30 minute video of trip on Voiceofthecaribbean.org

Thanks to Bobby Veira of Caribbean Cargo we were able to be a part of a media team that went to Guyana from February 5th to February 8th. The trip was sponsored by North American Airlines, Le Meridien (Guyana Pegasus) and we were hosted by the government of Guyana. We shall soon upload a journal of our trip along with photos that included:

  • Handing over $1942 to the Alicea Foundation from fundraising done through this website
  • Spending ~8 hours with President Jagdeo at State House and along the East Coast, especially Enterprise.
  • Observing a Citizens Initiative meeting
  • Visiting the LR and Ogle pump stations
  • Spending ~5 hours with Opposition Leader, Mr. Robert Corbin at Congress place and along the East Coast, especially Dazzel Housing Scheme and the Paradise Elementay school now serving as a shelter for ~ 200 people.
  • Meeting with local engineers and the President of the Guyana Association of Professional Engineers (GAPE)
  • Aerial tour of the East Demerara Water Conservancy
  • Visit to the Public Hospital at 9 pm on Monday Feb 7th

Some of these activities were done independently.
